A shocking video is going viral this week in which a woman takes off her thong and proceeds to use it as a COVID-19 face mask after staffers at a supermarket refuse to serve her.

The video opens with the woman being warned that she will not be served if she’s not wearing a mask. She was also told that she would be removed from the store if she did not put a mask on. She then reaches under her dress and pulls off her thong before using it as a makeshift mask.

Another female shopper, who appears to have gone viral herself earlier this week for telling grocery store staffers to remove their face masks, seemed to congratulate the woman by saying “well done.”

“Personally, I find that acceptable,” she added. “It is a mask. Quite frankly I think the bacteria on your knickers is less than on the mask. So well done to you. Brilliant.”

The clip has quickly gone viral, causing a stir among internet users from all over the globe.

“Stay at home and do online shopping if you don’t like the idea of wearing a mask,” one user commented, with another adding, “This makes me sick. She is aware of the law worldwide. We have a serious virus and (she thinks) a G-string will save her. Come on grow up. What must your family think?”

“They should not have allowed her into the shop without a mask in the first place,” commented a third user. “Disgusting to say the least!”

The Sun reported that this comes two months after South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that not wearing a face mask in public is a criminal offense.

“A person who does not wear a mask could be arrested and prosecuted,” he said. “On conviction, they will be liable to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both a fine and imprisonment.”
