On Tuesday, Republican Congressman Chip Roy defended himself against Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she accused him of using the “tactics” of a sexual abuser.

Roy had admonished AOC for her accusation that GOP Senator Ted Cruz had “tried to get her killed” by objecting to the electoral college certification.

The far-left Congresswoman from New York made the accusation after Cruz had agreed with her about investigating stock market manipulation.

Roy Demands Apology From AOC

On Friday, Roy sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling for Ocasio-Cortez to apologize for her accusation against Cruz.

Roy’s letter has since received the support of 13 other Republican members of Congress, as Ocasio-Cortez responded to his letter with an Instagram Live video on Monday.

In the video, Ocasio-Cortez revisited what she experienced during the January 6 Capitol Hill attack and admitted publicly that she is a survivor of sexual abuse.

AOC compared Cruz, Roy, and others unnamed lawmakers to “abusers” for wanting to move on from the issue.

Roy responded to Ocasio-Cortez’s Instagram post, telling The Daily Wire, “I was saddened to learn about the trauma that my colleague, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, described in recent days regarding sexual assault.”

“Nobody should go through that, and I hope that she has received justice and experiences peace in the matter,” Roy said.

He then took on her accusations against him.

Roy Demands AOC Apologize To Cruz

Roy told The Daily Wire, “As to her claims about my position, I will not be swayed from my beliefs about right and wrong — regarding this or anything else.”

“Her comparison of my defense of colleagues to her circumstances were again inappropriate, but I am not going to participate in discussing her personal experiences as a political matter,” Roy said.

The Republican then stuck up for Cruz.

“It does not change the fact that her allegation against Sen. Cruz was completely unacceptable for a Member of Congress to make against another member for engaging in free speech and debate about what our Constitution says about electors,” he added.

Roy continued, “Nor does it change my position that she should apologize for and retract those remarks.”

“Members of this body have a duty to work to mend the tattered fabric of our Republic, stop this heightened rhetoric, stop the social media sniping, and move forward to actually do the work the American people sent us here to do,” Roy finished.

Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying that Roy seeking an apology for accusation of attempted murder by Cruz was liked being victimized again.

“Or my favorite this past week, Ted Cruz and now Representative Chip Roy, and oh, by the way, some of the other representatives who actually encourage people to threaten members of Congress or tweeted out the location of the speaker, are now telling me to apologize for saying and speaking truth to what happened,” AOC said.

“These are the tactics of abusers,” the far left Democrat added. “Or rather, these are the tactics that abusers use.”
