Judge Merrick Garland, who is in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday for confirmation and will have more than enough votes to win there and in front of the full Senate, will make a focus of his January 6th investigation a hunt for white supremacists amongst the mob that attacked the Capitol.

FNC: “If confirmed, I will supervise the prosecution of white supremacists and others who stormed the Capitol on January 6 — a heinous attack that sought to disrupt a cornerstone of our democracy: the peaceful transfer of power to a newly elected government,” said Garland. “That critical work is but a part of the broad scope of the Department’s responsibilities…Communities of color and other minorities still face discrimination in housing, education, employment, and the criminal justice system; and bear the brunt of the harm caused by pandemic, pollution, and climate change.”

Where to begin? If you saw on television the gathering of idiots, bumpkins, and mouth breathers who ransacked the Capitol on January 6th, you may have noticed one thing was conspicuously absent: Any sign, speech, or action that could be fairly construed as racism. Yes, that mob was full of cretins and lunatics. But these specific cretins and lunatics were not loony on the issue of race.

But of course, the Left spun it as such and thus the mob and its instigator-in-chief have given Democrats carte blanche to go on another leftist witch hunt. January 6th, the gift that keeps on giving to Democrats.

On other issues like “pollution” (Merrick, the 1970s called and wants its term back), climate change (What does an AG have to do with that?), and a host of other authoritarian leftist legal imperatives, Garland toed the line. So he is who’ll we’ll get as AG because some git had to inject himself into the Georgia runoffs and turn the Senate blue.

Garland added: “If I am confirmed, serving as attorney general will be the culmination of a career I have dedicated to ensuring that the laws of our country are fairly and faithfully enforced, and that the rights of all Americans are protected.” Blah, blah, blah…

In related news, Garland at least showed some sanity on election results. “All I know is of course what I have been able to glean from public reports of government agencies. The Department of Homeland Security in the previous administration publicly described the last election as the most secure in American history. Some 60 or more courts rejected claims of fraud in the election. Some on legal grounds but many after providing an opportunity for the submission of evidence and rejected the evidence that was submitted as insufficient…And Attorney General Barr authorized U.S. attorneys to investigate voter fraud after the election and before certification and at the conclusion he announced that the department has not found evidence sufficiently material of widespread voter fraud to have had an effect on the election.” Ted Cruz, who needs a win, came up to bat.

Cruz on Cuomo: “When Judge Garland testifies before this Committee, we expect him to commit the Department of Justice to fully investigating this cover-up to determine whether any criminal laws were violated and to prosecute any violations,” said Cruz, R-TX, in a letter last week.

“We will also ask him whether he has the resources he needs to fully pursue an investigation, not only into the deaths that occurred in New York but the deaths that occurred in other states that adopted similar directives leading to the admission of COVID-19 infected persons into elder care facilities,” he continued. And Cruz is doing just that on Monday. Bravo.
