It should come as no surprise that the Democrats now control all of Washington after the final electoral count last night. Months of debates and conventions didn’t seem to matter as the Democrats decided to steal the election from the American people. While the party acts as if nothing happened, members are beginning to turn away from the Democrats, seeing how dangerous they have become.

A lifelong Democrat and Georgia state representative Vernon Jones has spent the last few years being the executive officer for DeKalb County. Through his years, Jones has stood by the Democratic party and the decisions they have made. But recently, Jones has had a change of heart and decided it was time to turn away from his party for a more conservative one. That’s right – Jones is now officially a Republican.

Taking to Twitter to announce the change of party, Jones tweeted, “Now more than ever, the Republican Party is in desperate need of leaders that know how to fight. I know how to fight.”

While surprising given that the Democrats just took control of Washington, this isn’t the first time Jones has sided with the Republicans. Last April, Jones grew criticism from his own party when he decided to back President Trump for re-election. The decision wasn’t easy for Jones, but he ultimately sided with President Trump because of how he handled the economy and prison reform.

Seeing the good that Trump has done for America also led Jones to support his local Republican candidates in the runoff election. Instead of following his own party, Jones lobbied for Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, which again drew a lot of disdain from the Democratic party. They wanted Jones to side with them and run what he referred to as a “pack”.

When discussing the runoff election results and how the Democrats were able to change the state blue. Jones was quick to retort, saying, “Georgia’s still a red state, it’s not a blue state. What you’ve seen happen is you’ve seen the Democrats more organized and run as a pack. We have not seen that on the Republican side.

As for his recent move to the Republican party, Jones hopes that his leadership will help shape the future of their party. He said, “The face of the Republican party is going to be African-American men. African-American men, 2 million more voted for the president. The president has cracked the wall on getting African-American men votes.”
