There is a reason New York has been hit the hardest since COVID-19 was first reported. Other states have fought the virus and have been able to keep their economies from drowning. Yet New York continues to look like a wasteland as meaningless lockdowns and outrageous mandates cause small businesses and locals to evacuate. And at the heart of it all is Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo. But don’t worry, Cuomo has a plan to reenergize the state – celebrities.

To elaborate more, Cuomo believes that no state has been hit harder than his. And it has nothing to do with his poor leadership or the Democrats. But he has a plan to fix it. According to Cuomo, in February he will kick off the New York Arts Revival, which will include over 150 talented artists including Chris Rock and Hugh Jackman.

Excited about the event, Cuomo told reporters, “This groundbreaking initiative will help revive the arts while celebrating New York’s resiliency and recovery from the COVID pandemic. Almost no one has been hurt more by COVID than our artists.”

Cuomo didn’t stop there as he addressed the people during his State of the State Address. He admitted, “Cities are, by definition, centers of energy, entertainment, theater, and cuisine. Without that activity and attraction, cities lose much of their appeal. What is a city without social, cultural, and creative synergies? New York City is not New York without Broadway.”

While Cuomo might be right that there is no New York without Broadway, wasn’t it his decision to close New York in the first place? When COVID-19 first hit, President Trump left it up to the states to decide how to fight the virus. Some ran scared, while others stood firm. It’s easy to see which way Cuomo went.

As for the lockdowns that he himself put in place, Cuomo said, “We cannot wait until summer to turn the lights back on for the arts and provide a living wage for artists. The show will go on, the fans will be back, and New York will be New York once again.”

Again, Cuomo is portraying the victim to be more appealing to the people who vote for him, but let’s not forget that it was his leadership that pushed New York to the brink of collapse.
