A 100 year-old veteran of World War II just became the one millionth senior citizen in the state of Florida to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Henry Sayler got the vaccine on live television on “Fox & Friends” as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis looked on. Almost two thirds of Florida’s coronavirus vaccines have gone to senior citizens.

“I didn’t feel a thing,” Sayler said after getting vaccinated. “I just want to say how happy we are to live in the No. 1 state in the union and have the No. 1 governor in the union.”

Sayler is a former Republican state senator who has had friendships with astronaut Buzz Aldrin and pilot Charles Lindbergh during his lifetime.

“He’s an American hero,” DeSantis said of Sayler, adding that he looks good for someone his age. “This is a handsome individual, and people know it.”

All of the hosts of “Fox & Friends,” including veteran Pete Hegseth, thanked Sayler for his lifetime of service.

Sayler only just turned 100 earlier this month.

“The first 100 are the hardest!” Sayler joked just before his birthday.

Sayler has worked for six presidents, including former President Ronald Reagan, but he didn’t spend much time in the White House.

“I was usually out in the field with them, so to speak,” Sayler explained. “Or he would be down in Florida. I think all presidents like to come to Florida and we like to greet ’em!”

Sayler has tons of stories about his life, including serving as a fighter pilot in World War II before the Air Force became its own branch of the military. He was even there when his boss hired Lindbergh to help establish the force.

“The Air Force was about to become a separate member of the armed forces. Lindberg, he traveled around the world for about a year for us and came back with all kinds of suggestions,” he said.

As for what Sayler has planned for his next 100 years, he’s just waiting to see what the future will hold for him.

“I was afraid you’d ask that!” Sayler said with a laugh when asked that question. “We’ll just have to wait and see.”
