If you were wondering how important the runoff election in Georgia is, you might want to take a look at what Jon Ossoff had to say when it came to talking about lockdowns and the coronavirus. While the nation has been sent into lockdowns and mask mandates, the virus continues to spread throughout the nation with little signs of slowing down. Now, against the orders of thousands of doctors and scientists, Ossoff would like to close down the state once again.

Back when the coronavirus first made its appearance in the states, President Trump left it up to the states to decide how to treat COVID-19. At first, we all went into a somewhat prefixed national lockdown that America was for until they learned it crippled the economy and does little to help stop the spread. Not to mention, the relief aid we were guaranteed but never received.

Even with a vaccine just weeks away, Ossoff believes that won’t be enough, and that we might have to do more lockdowns. This is what he had to say in an interview with CNN, “If the CDC and its leadership gave us strong indication that those kinds of stronger mitigation measures are necessary to save lives and contain the spread of the virus, it would be malpractice for politicians to ignore that advice.” Ossoff would later go on to say the virus is “out of control” and needs to be taken seriously. Well, let’s look at the facts.

In Georgia, there are currently 10,617,423 people. Of those in the population, there are 162,886 cases of COVID-19. That is only 1.5% of the total population. But let’s break it down even more. The state has seen new daily cases reach a high of 6,209 on November 21st. Since then, Georgia has dropped significantly to 1,952 cases. But remember, according to Ossoff, we are all in grave danger.

It’s interesting that Ossoff and the Democrats would say that the state is in peril when the numbers and facts are right there for anyone to look at. But that isn’t the point for the Democrats. They don’t work in the world of facts, it’s all about fear and control. That is what they want when they talk about lockdowns. It isn’t about safety, but dependence.
