The Georgia-based lawyer Lin Wood has been making headlines over the past few weeks by urging supporters of Donald Trump to ditch the president and vote for GOP Sens. David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) in the upcoming runoff elections on January 5.

Wood has been portraying himself as a supporter of Trump, even wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat as he calls upon conservatives to vote for Perdue and Loeffler’s opponents. However, Wood is not who he’s claiming to be.

There are no records of Wood ever voting for Trump in the Georgia primaries in 2020 and 2016, according to Breitbart News. There are also no records of Wood ever pulling a GOP primary ballot in 2016 or 2020, the two years Trump was on the ticket, in the state of Georgia.

Records do show, however, that Wood backed Democrats for years before Trump. In fact, he has not voted in a Republican primary since 2004, and he requested Democrat ballots in the 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2018 primary elections in Georgia. This shows that even when Trump was president in 2018, Wood still requested a Democrat primary ballot, despite the fact that Trump was backing Republicans in the state.

In addition, Wood has a long documented history of donating to Democrats’ presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial, and congressional campaigns. Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show that while Wood did shift a bit to donating to Trump and other Republicans during the Trump era, he has long provided financial backing for Democrats for federal office and especially for Georgia offices. The records show that Wood has donated $40,000 to Democrats from 2004 to at least 2018.

Campaign finance records state that Wood has donated thousands of dollars to Democrats like Democrats like former President Barack Obama, who he gave $2,300 to in 2008 over two separate donations. Wood also made donations to Democrat John Kerry’s campaign when he was running for office back in 2004.

Wood even previously made donations to Perdue’s 2014 Democrat opponent Michelle Nunn! In 2017, he donated a whopping $12,600 to Georgia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Evans, who would go on to lose the Democrat primary for governor in 2018 to Stacey Abrams, who then lost to now-GOP Gov. Brian Kemp in the 2018 general election.

Wood is trying to portray himself as a Trump supporter who “saw the light” and is now a leftist, but like many other Democrats, he’s just a liar who is willing to do anything to see liberals win elections.
