Since the results of the election were read, Americans around the country have demanded to know what happened on election night. I’m not the only one to know Sleepy Joe Biden couldn’t have garnered more votes than any other President in history. That added with the fact that Biden spent majority of the campaign hiding in his basement, fearing COVID-19. Well, adding to the long list of freedoms the Democrats want to take from us, freedom of speech may soon be on the chopping block according to the Democratic Senator from New Hampshire. She believes Republican Lawmakers who don’t accept Joe Biden as President could be committing “Treason”.

Speaking on the only network that would allow such ludicrous theories, Senator Jeanne Shaheen went on CNN with the idea that lawmakers shouldn’t challenge the election. She said while on television, “Each of us who are serving as senators took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. One of the most fundamental principles of the Constitution is the peaceful transition of power. These senators and members of Congress who have refused to acknowledge that we had a free and fair election in which Joe Biden beat Donald Trump by over 7 million votes, are bordering on sedition and treason.”

Unlike other comments said by the Democrats, Shaheen’s remarks didn’t sit well with many across the aisle, especially since the penalty of treason is – Death.

According to the U.S. Criminal Code, treason is defined as, “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

Moreover, the transition of power pertains to the switching of Administrations – not public opinion. Also, it is one of the fundamental principles of every American to be able to question freely without fear of repercussions such as being labeled a traitor.
