Two members of the ‘Squad’ called for Lindsey Graham’s resignation following Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s (R) allegations that the Senator encouraged him to toss out legal ballots.

Graham disputes the characterization of the conversation with Raffensperger.

“It’s time for Lindsey Graham to submit his resignation,” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) tweeted.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) supported the sentiment.

“Lindsey Graham attempted to commit voter fraud,” Tlaib tweeted without evidence. “He can’t get away with it.”

“Actions result in consequences,” she continued. “This unethical and possibly illegal action from a sitting U.S. Senator demands a swift consequence.”

Allegations That Led to Calls For Lindsey Graham’s Resignation

Raffensperger accused Graham in a Washington Post interview of pressuring him to throw out legally cast ballots in districts where there were large discrepancies.

“It sure looked like he was wanting to go down that road,” the Georgia Secretary of State said regarding finding a way to toss ballots that were cast legally.

Graham also reportedly asked whether Raffensperger “had the power to toss all mail ballots in counties found to have higher rates of nonmatching signatures.”

A senior election official on the call said it was simply a matter of miscommunication.

“What I heard was a discussion about absentee ballots and if … there was a percentage of signatures that weren’t really, truly matching is there some point you get to, if someone could say …‘Let’s throw out all these ballots,'” he said in an interview with MSNBC.

“I could see how Sen. Graham viewed it one way and Secretary Raffensperger viewed it one way, but our job in this state is to follow the law and follow the process,” they added.

Graham said the allegations were “ridiculous” and explained he was only seeking clarity on Georgia’s signature-matching requirements when speaking to Raffensperger.

Graham Laughs Off Omar and Tlaib

For his part, Lindsey Graham laughed off the Squad’s suggestion that he must resign.

The Republican Senator shared screenshots of their tweets and wrote, “I must be doing something right when the most radical liberal politicians and media pundits in America are calling for my resignation!”

Added Graham, “I will continue to try to find common ground where possible, but will not hesitate to vigorously oppose the radical domestic and foreign policy agenda of The Squad and other liberal critics.”

“To those who are trying to silence me – you will fail miserably!”

Perhaps the Squad is taking on too many battles currently. A fight with Graham is not unexpected, but they can’t seem to get along with members of their own party either.

Democrats have been blaming their radical views for costing them dearly in the election, while Tlaib and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have fired back that their party is just racist.

Graham, meanwhile, knows how to steel himself for a fight.

His battle with progressives to get Brett Kavanaugh nominated to the Supreme Court reinvigorated the perception that he is a staunch conservative hero.

Conservatives have Graham and his battle against unhinged Democrats to thank for a right-leaning court for generations to come.

Don’t expect Lindsey Graham to back down to the Squad this time either.
