Emmy award-winning journalist Adam Housely is reporting that California Governor Gavin Newsom’s recent maskless dinner at a restaurant known as The French Laundry involved 22 people and was held indoors.

The group also allegedly ran up an exorbitant tab.

Housely shared what he had learned – based on what appears to be reported by town residents – about the gathering on social media.

“Because Yountville is my hometown … and where the French Laundry is located … I thought I’d do some digging,” he tweeted.

“Facts about the Newsom dinner: The bar bill was around 15-thousand. 22 people in attendance, not 12. No masks. All indoors. They got so loud, other patrons complained,” Housley continued.

Worse, in direct opposition to the Governor’s own orders, he states: “There was ‘zero effort’ to go outside and there was no social distancing of any type.”

Gavin Newsom’s Maskless Dinner Problem is Getting Worse

After initial reports of the dinner surfaced, a spokesperson for the Governor’s office claimed the dinner was held outside.

Subsequently leaked images and now Housley’s report indicates that was not accurate.

Newsom would later say, “There were just a few extra people there than the spirit of what I am promoting.”

This appears to be another mistruth if Housley’s number of nearly two-dozen attendees is accurate.

Newsom apologized for the violation of his own lockdown orders and downplayed it as a simple mistake.

“I want to apologize to you because I need to preach and practice, not just preach and not practice, and I’ve done my best to do that,” Newsom said. “We’re all human. We all fall short sometimes.”

Would the Average Citizen Get to Use the ‘We’re All Human’ Defense?

One has to wonder if Newsom’s defense would work for the average resident of California.

Just last month, the Democrat governor issued a handful of absurd Thanksgiving edicts upon those very people.

They include restrictions on gatherings to just three households, suggestions that all get-togethers be held outdoors, while limiting them to two hours, and warning that singing and shouting is “strongly discouraged.”

Newsom appears to have violated every one of those orders.

“Saturday Night Live” alum Rob Schneider tore into Newsom on social media, calling him “Emperor Newsom” among other things.

Newsom’s French Laundry scandal is stirring up a conversation of a recall.

Tony Krvaric, co-chair of Rescue California, a group behind the recall effort said the goal regarding Newsom is “holding him accountable for his erratic leadership and stunning hypocrisy in this crisis.”

The recall effort is considered a long shot.

If ‘erratic leadership and stunning hypocrisy’ were grounds for a recall, half the Democrat governors currently holding office would qualify.
