LifeZette has sources all around the nation giving us the latest from the battleground states. The general picture is calm. Reports of minor unrest and myriad technical and administrative issues plague the national scene. Picture expected to get darker tonight. Turnout is heavy across the nation, with Trump areas reporting biggest numbers. But remember, tonight will focus on tentative results. Could be weeks until we know the final presidential winner. LifeZette will have live election coverage beginning at 7pm EST Tuesday.

From the field:

Georgia, “So things are winding down here a bit. Not much going on. Some voting hours extended in some spots. There were some glitches in some of the rural areas so those are being addressed. No social unrest or any scenes at all as far as I can tell. Business owners a little nervous about post election turmoil.”

Michigan, “Our polls close at 8 and we are looking at hopefully changing at least 2 of 6 congressional seats red. We had hoped for more but the primaries screwed us. On a side note, running my errands today I counted individual houses with signage: 99 trump houses compared to just 13 Biden. But I was in St Charles and Chesaning which are usually known for voting Democrat.”

North Carolina, “Local media is still showing no lines at polling places and saying that Tillis is down against Cal Cunningham by several points as we head into the last few hours of voting.”

Financial community, “Dow Jones up 2% today. Good sign for Trump.”

Iowa, “Folks are coming out for Trump big. Even in Dem areas like Des Moines. Recent polls look good. We’re gonna take Iowa for sure. Take Iowa off the battleground list. We won.”

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

Wisconsin, “Troubling. Biden people all over. They think they’re gonna win. Clashes at polls because Democrats won’t back off harassing voters. I don’t like what I see.”

Florida, “Here in Dade it’s all Trump. The Cubans are crazy for him and he also has a lot of black support. Hearing Broward is more Trump than the usual big Democrat voting and Palm Beach is a mess, as some protests are trying to stop voters. But Trump should be okay in Florida.”

Arizona, “Hard to tell. Quiet but Biden campaign is making noise. If I had to say, I’d call it for Trump, but not by much. McSally is toast. She’s running against an astronaut. So, it’s over.”

Maryland, “Party pros in the state capitol are looking at the national scene, as Maryland is deep blue. Republicans are cautiously optimistic. Dems are terrified of a 2016 repeat.”

So that’s what we have going into the night. We will update this report as we get new info. Polls close on the East Coast at 7 and 8. Though some are staying open late, which will cause lawsuits. The main question still is: who does the big turnout benefit?
