Over the weekend, we reported that President Donald Trump had attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) during a rally in Michigan, claiming that she “loves” Yemen but “doesn’t love our country.” Now, Omar is firing back by calling Trump a “neglected child” as she slammed him for frequently insulting her.

“She loves our country very much,” Trump said sarcastically at the rally, referring to Omar. “And Yemen, right? No…she’s going to help me win. She’s going to protest when I go up there. And I’ll say thank you very much. Every time you protest, it’s gotta add about 25% of the vote.”

Trump went on to say that he believes Ilhan Omar is going to help him win the election against Joe Biden.

“A 700 per cent increase in refugees from the most dangerous terror hot spots anywhere in the world, including Syria, Somalia… where Omar… Omar, that’s the other reason I’m going to win. Ilhan Omar,” Trump said, according to The Independent. “She loves our country very much.”

“She’s gonna help me win. She’s going to protest when I go up there, and I’ll say ‘thank you very much — every time you protest it’s going to add about 25 per cent to the vote,” the president added. “She’s telling us how to run our country, and she doesn’t love our country.”

This did not sit well with Omar, who took to Twitter to fire back at him.

“Every freaking rally, seriously this is getting old and reeks of desperation,” the freshman congresswoman tweeted. “He is like a neglected child obsessing over being loved. Pathetic.”

Earlier in the day, Omar had accused Trump of being a “threat to public health” for holding a rally in Minnesota.
