Republicans and Democrats both know the outcome of the January races in Georgia will affect the nation for decades to come. So both parties are betting all in these races and bringing in heavy guns to win there.

FNC: “A lot’s at stake” in Georgia’s dual Senate runoff elections on Jan. 5, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told ‘Hannity’ Monday night. Graham explained to guest host Trey Gowdy that if Republicans win one of the two races and keep their majority, he will be chairman of the Senate Budget Committee beginning next year. However, if Democrats win both races and the Senate is split 50-50 with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris breaking ties, Graham warned that chairmanship would go to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.”

“I may not be your cup of tea out there,” said Graham. “But let me tell you this, I’m a hell of a lot better than Bernie Sanders when it comes to your money. It’s the end of checks and balances. It would fundamentally change the country as we know it. The fate of the republic really lies in the hands of our friends in Georgia… I’m worried as we speak tonight. I just don’t believe the people in Georgia are going to allow this country to be turned into a socialist nation. That’s really what’s on the ballot for these Senate seats.”

Georgia is extending the use of ballot drop boxes for the state’s Senate runoff elections on Jan. 5, where the Republican majority in the Senate is at stake. The Georgia State Election Board voted on Monday for the extended use of drop boxes.

In related news Democrat Raphael Warnock is a loon. Here he is preaching in 2017, “We are in a special moment. We are in an evil moment. We are in a tragic moment, and I suggest to you that our politics is symptomatic of our sickness. We’ve got a lot of problems, but I would not be a prophet if I did not tell you that racism is America’s preexisting condition,” he said. Uh huh. A prophet. Should we stick him nicely somewhere between Exodus and Numbers? To be kind to the man, he has a rambunctiously positive relationship with Cocoa Puffs.

Republicans are hitting the state to work for Perdue and Loeffler.

 

Senator Rick Scott, R-FL, is doing his bit by expanding an ad buy in Georgia’s Senate runoff elections.  A spot by Scott’s campaign, which started running two weeks ago, features a comment made by Senate Democratic Leader Senator Chuck Schumer of New York. Schumer said “Now, we take Georgia. Then, we change America.”  Perhaps a little too, “Today Germany, tomorrow the world!” for modern political taste.

Scott is spending an additional $200,000 to run spots in Florida border markets with Georgia, where the former governor is well known. Scott takes over as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate GOP campaign arm, next year. The new ad comes from his PAC.
