Far-left Democrat Cori Bush, the newest member of the ‘Squad’ led by Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, won her race to become the first black congresswoman in Missouri’s 1st Congressional District Tuesday night.

Bush beat her Republican opponent Anthony Rogers easily, with almost 85 percent.

Her district includes St. Louis and is overwhelmingly Democrat.

‘The Squad’ Adds To Its Ranks

Bush said during her victory speech, “As the first Black woman and also the first nurse and single mother to have the honor to represent Missouri in the United States Congress, let me say this: To the Black women, the Black girls, the nurses, the essential workers, the single mothers: This is our moment.”

A possible Bush victory was touted as an addition to ‘the Squad,” the far-left collection of Democratic congresswomen that currently includes Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Every current squad member won their re-election bids on Tuesday.

Bush Was A Black Lives Matter Activist Before Running For Congress

Bush was a Black Lives Matter activist before running for Congress and helped lead some of the protests in Ferguson, Missouri in the wake of the police shooting of Michael Brown in 2014.

The pro-Squad political action committee Justice Democrats, congratulated Bush on her victory Tuesday night.

“It’s official. The first-ever recruited Justice Democrat candidate @CoriBush is going to Congress,” the group tweeted. “Six years ago police officers maced Cori in Ferguson as she helped spark a global movement. Three months from now she’ll be holding police accountable as a member of Congress.”

Democrats Becoming Even More Far-Left?

While the presidential race remains close and uncalled, and Republicans appear to have kept a senate majority, the extreme left members of the Democratic Party came out victorious and even added to their numbers with Bush’s win.

This is scary.

The 2020 race has been largely about Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his party at large kowtowing to the socialists within their ranks.

While the overall 2020 vote to date shows there is no mandate for the Democrats’ agenda, that party still retains an influential extreme element.

The blatantly socialist “Green New Deal” remains in play.

The so-called ‘Squad’ has definitely pushed Democrats as a whole hard to the left.

If a President Joe Biden becomes a reality, expect him to be beholden to progressives in his party who just grew their numbers.

To the degree that potential vice president Kamala Harris is involved, expect that leftward drift to move even quicker.

If President Trump eventually wins and Republicans keep the senate, this will be a major bulwark against these dangerous socialist forces.

Fingers crossed.
