In 2016, a group of computer scientists and lawyers believed Hillary Clinton should have challenged the presidential election results in some of the battleground swing states which could have worked in her favor.

On November 22, 2016, New York Magazine reported, “Hillary Clinton is being urged by a group of prominent computer scientists and election lawyers to call for a recount in three swing states won by Donald Trump, New York has learned.”

Pro-Hillary Group In 2016 Claimed To Find ‘Persuasive Evidence’ The Election Results Were Manipulated

“The group, which includes voting-rights attorney John Bonifaz and J. Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society, believes they’ve found persuasive evidence that results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania may have been manipulated or hacked,” the report continued (emphasis added).

New York Magazine mentioned that this group was urging Clinton’s campaign to pursue these concerns.

The outlet reported, “The group is so far not speaking on the record about their findings and is focused on lobbying the Clinton team in private…”

Right now, Democrats are demanding that President Donald Trump and his allies come up with “evidence” that he actually won the election.

Where’s The ‘Evidence?’: Group Urged Clinton Recount Even Though It Had ‘Not Found Proof’ Of Election Manipulation

The group urging Mrs. Clinton four years ago had not “found proof” either, despite apparently wanting a recount.

New York reported (emphasis added), “While it’s important to note the group has not found proof of hacking or manipulation, they are arguing to the campaign that the suspicious pattern merits an independent review — especially in light of the fact that the Obama White House has accused the Russian government of hacking the Democratic National Committee.”

Alderman In 2016: ‘Nobody Is Ever Going To Examine That Evidence Unless Candidates In Those States Act Now’

The day after the New York story was published, Halderman explored the issue further.

Alderman wrote on Medium on November 23, 2016, “Closer to the election, when it was clear from polling data which states would have close electoral margins, the attackers might spread malware into voting machines in some of these states, rigging the machines to shift a few percent of the vote to favor their desired candidate.”

Alderman analyzed the mechanics of his argument further but ultimately concluded, “Unfortunately, nobody is ever going to examine that evidence unless candidates in those states act now, in the next several days, to petition for recounts.”

The Trump campaign is examining the integrity of this election in the swing states where getting the outcome right could make a difference.
