Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is fighting back against her fellow Democrats after they blamed progressives for the loss of their seats in the House.

After Democrats saw their House majority decreases on Tuesday, many of them blamed Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow progressives. The New York congresswoman, however, responded by saying that there is no “compelling evidence” for that line of attack.

“There are folks running around on TV blaming progressivism for Dem underperformance,” she tweeted. “I was curious, so I decided to open the hood on struggling campaigns of candidates who are blaming progressives for their problems. Almost all had awful execution on digital. DURING A PANDEMIC.”

This comes after a source told Fox News that during a conference call on Thursday, Democrats complained that the rallying cries of progressives cost some moderates their seats.

“There’s absolutely no accountability from the speaker,” one frustrated Democrat reportedly said on the call. “We should have won big but you know the defund the police issue, the Green New Deal — those issues killed our members. Having everybody walk the plank on qualified immunity with the cops. That just hurt a lot of members. No one’s taking responsibility for it.”

The office of House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) has confirmed that he said that if “we are going to run on Medicare for All, defund the police, socialized medicine, we’re not going to win.” Ocasio-Cortez, however, was not having any of it.

“So the whole “progressivism is bad” argument just doesn’t have any compelling evidence that I’ve seen. When it comes to ‘Defund’ & ‘Socialism’ attacks, people need to realize these are racial resentment attacks,” she added. “You’re not gonna make that go away. You can make it less effective.”

Not stopping there, she added, “You can’t just tell the Black, Brown, & youth organizers riding in to save us every election to be quiet or not have their reps champion them when they need us. Or wonder why they don’t show up for midterms when they’re scolded for existing. Esp when they’re delivering victories.”

It seems that this Democrat infighting will not be ending anytime soon.
