President Donald Trump escalated his feud with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Wednesday when he accused her of having “a lot of mental problems.” This came as he was taking questions about the stalled negotiations over a COVID-19 stimulus bill.

In an interview with Fox News host Stuart Varney, Trump said that he is willing to increase his current $1.8 trillion offer for the next coronavirus stimulus package, when negotiations with Democrats resume.

“Absolutely, I would. I would pay more. I would go higher. Go big or go home, I said it yesterday. Go big or go home,” Trump said, according to The Hill.

However, the president also said that he would never agree to Pelosi’s $2.2 trillion offer, accusing her of wanting to use the money to “bail out” Democrat-run cities.

“She is asking for all sorts of goodies. She wants to bail out badly run Democrat states and cities. She wants money for things that you would never, you just couldn’t, just your pride couldn’t let it happen,” Trump said, adding that Pelosi “doesn’t want to give anything. She thinks it helps her with the election and I don’t think so. I think it hurts her with the election, because everyone knows she is holding it up. We’re not holding it up. She is holding it up.”

Trump then went in for the kill when Varney asked, “would you pick up the phone to call Speaker Pelosi?”

“Sure I would,” Trump replied. “But I know my people. I know life. She’s got a lot of problems, she’s got a lot of mental problems and it’s going to be very hard to do anything with her.”

Ouch, Pelosi is not going to like that one!

In this same interview, Trump claimed that the United States would force China to pay for the stimulus, since that’s where the virus originated.

“The Republicans are willing to do it. I’d like to see more money, because it comes back. It’s going to come back anyway,” Trump said. “We’re going to take it from China. It’s coming out of China. They’re the ones that caused this problem.”
