Bill Stepien, President Donald Trump’s campaign manager, pushed back against the Commission on Presidential Debates for not focusing on foreign policy in the final debate.

The Trump team argued that foreign policy has traditionally been the topic of the final debate, but that the Debate Commission wants more Biden-friendly topics.

Stepien wrote a letter to the commission that he shared on Twitter.

Trump Team Says Foreign Policy Focus Was Agreed Upon

“We write with great concern over the announced topics for what was always billed as the ‘Foreign Policy Debate’ in the series of events agreed to by both the Trump campaign and Biden campaign many months ago,” Stepien wrote.

Thursday’s debate will be moderated by NBC News’ Kristen Welker.

Welker announced Monday that instead of foreign policy, the debate topics will include COVID-19, American Families, Race in America, Climate Change, National Security, and Leadership.

Team Trump manager Stepien pointed out that all of these newly announced topics were covered in the first debate.

“It is completely irresponsible for the commission to alter the focus of this final debate just days before the event, solely to insulate Biden from his own history,” he wrote.

Team Trump Says Biden Is Afraid To Talk About His Foreign Policy Record

Stepien said that since Biden has such a horrible foreign policy record – which includes voting for the Iraq War and being on the wrong side of some of America’s worst foreign policy decisions – the Democrat’s campaign is eager to ignore Biden’s colossal mistakes.

Trump’s campaign manager also brought up the Obama-Biden administration giving Iran pallets of cash, and the former vice president’s son Hunter Biden’s questionable deals with the Chinese.

“If a major party candidate for President of the United States is compromised by the Communist Party of China, this is something Americans deserve to hear about, but it is not supposing the Biden would want to avoid it,” Stepien wrote.

Stepien Slams ‘Commission Which Has Already Demonstrated Its Partiality To Biden’

Stepien also accused the debate commission of having a pro-Biden bias.

“It is completely unacceptable for anyone to wield such power and a decision to proceed with that change amounts to turning further editorial control of the debate over to the Commission which has already demonstrated its partiality to Biden,” Stepien’s statement read.

When Team Trump suggested adding another debate after Thursday after the original second debate was canceled due to coronavirus concerns, Team Biden did not accept.
