Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke out on Wednesday to demand that President Donald Trump accept the election results “like a man” instead of placing doubts in the minds of the American people if not all ballots are counted on election night.

During an interview with MSNBC, Pelosi was asked what Democrats can do if Trump declares victory prematurely on Election Night. The Speaker responded by accusing Trump of trying to “stir the pot” by questioning the need of taking extra time to count the votes that are coming in by mail.

She also smugly predicted that Biden would win the election.

“On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden will be inaugurated president of the United States. The states will count the votes that they have in a timely fashion,” Pelosi said.

“The easiest thing for [Trump] to do is to stand up like a man and accept the results of an election of the American people,” she continued. “For him to make these kinds of statements shows his lack of patriotism, his undermining of our elections while he allows foreign countries like his friend [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to undermine the integrity of our election, he himself is doing it as well.”

This comes after various election officials have warned that a winner might not be declared on the night of the November 3 election, as they may need extra time to count ballots that are coming in by mail, according to The Hill. Trump, however, is not having any of it.

“It would be very, very proper and very nice if a winner were declared on Nov. 3, instead of counting ballots for two weeks, which is totally inappropriate and I don’t believe that that’s by our laws,” Trump said yesterday. “We’ll see what happens.”

President Trump has long pointed out the risk of fraud that is posed by vote by mail, something that Democrats have been whole-heartedly ignoring. It remains to be seen what will happen when the election actually takes place next Tuesday.
