Michelle Obama Teams Up With LeBron James For Voter Push

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has teamed up with NBA star LeBron James to influence the upcoming election by registering voters. Though they claim that their effort is bipartisan, it’s painfully obvious that their real goal is to register more people who will vote Democrat.

On Tuesday, Michelle’s organization When We All Vote and James’ group More Than a Vote announced that they were joining forces, according to The Hill. They added that the goal of their voter drives s to “build momentum and excitement around voting early.”

The groups went on to say that in the two weeks before the election on November 3, “provide information, transportation, food, music, personal protective equipment and voter protection support to Americans near early voting sites in cities around the country.” The cities that Michelle and James plan to target include Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee and Charlotte, N.C., among others.

“It’s now up to us to do everything in our power to get our friends and family ready to vote early and safely together,” Michelle said in a statement. “We can’t leave anyone behind. I’m proud of the work When We All Vote will do with More Than a Vote and our partners to help provide on-the-ground support for Americans who will cast their ballots early.”

Michelle and James are both proud Democrats who have been vocal about their disdain for President Donald Trump, so they obviously are really prioritizing getting more Democrats to vote, rather than Republicans. This comes just one week after Michelle publicly blasted Trump as “racist.”

The former First Lady released a blistering video accusing Trump and his fellow Republicans of “stoking fears about black and brown Americans, lying about how minorities will destroy the suburbs, whipping up violence and intimidation. And they’re pinning it all on what’s been an overwhelmingly peaceful movement for racial solidarity.”

“Research backs it up, only a tiny fraction of demonstrations have had any violence at all,” Michelle added. “So what the president is doing is once again patently false, it’s morally wrong. And yes, it is racist. But that doesn’t mean it won’t work.”
