The New York Post’s recent bombshell report revealing a clear connection between Joe Biden and Ukrainian energy giant Burisma should have sent shockwaves across Washington — at an absolute minimum, the news indicates that the former vice president has lied to the American people.

But instead of sparking a nationwide outrage, the explosive news story triggered a coordinated blackout, with the mainstream media, Big Tech, and the Democrats all working diligently to suppress dissemination of this critical information just days ahead of the election.

The report contains never-before-published emails that show Biden’s son, Hunter, had arranged a meeting between his father and Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, while Biden was serving as vice president.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” one email reads. In a previous exchange, dated about a year earlier, Pozharskyi had asked Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” to promote the company’s interests.

Whether Hunter was able to leverage his father’s political power for Burisma’s benefit is a separate question, and one that deserves to be answered. These particular revelations are significant because Biden has insisted that he has “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.” If authentic, the emails obtained by The New York Post definitively prove that Biden was brazenly lying to the public.

The American people deserve to know whether Biden lied. If there wasn’t anything improper about his meeting with one of his son’s business partners, there presumably would have been no need for him to feign total ignorance of Hunter’s dealings.

It’s important to remember that the Democrats, with the help and encouragement of the liberal media, actually impeached President Trump over a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — and they did so despite having access to a complete transcript of the call, which proved that nothing untoward had been discussed.

The deliberate campaign to minimize public awareness of The New York Post report was so swift and overbearing that it’s almost too difficult to adumbrate everything that has transpired after its publication.

At first, Twitter decided to prevent its users from tweeting the link to The New York Post article, flagging it as “harmful.” Meanwhile, Facebook announced that it would be “reducing its distribution on our platform” on the ridiculous grounds that it had not yet been “fact-checked.”

“I, an editor at The New York Post, one of the nation’s largest papers by circulation, can’t post one of our own stories that details corruption by a major-party presidential candidate, Biden,” Sohrab Ahmari, the newspaper’s opinion editor, wrote on Twitter, attaching a screenshot of a pop-up that identified the link to the report as “potentially harmful.”

The link undoubtedly is “potentially harmful” to Biden’s electoral prospects — but that’s hardly an acceptable excuse for concealing the story from the voting public.

Twitter quickly elevated its censorship to an even higher level, locking the accounts of high-profile users who tried to share the story, including White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany and the Trump Campaign.

Twitter’s excuse for censoring the story also defies explanation, and is completely inconsistent with the platform’s past practices. “In line with our Hacked Materials Policy, as well as our approach to blocking URLs, we are taking action to block any links to or images of the material in question on Twitter,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.

Come again?

The Post did not use hackers to obtain Hunter Biden’s emails — they were recovered from an abandoned laptop. More importantly, Twitter made no effort to censor a recent New York Times report about the President’s tax returns — a story based entirely on private financial records that could not have been obtained legally.

The mainstream media and the Democrats, meanwhile, continue to pretend that The New York Post has not published any incriminating information about Biden to begin with. Only a handful of editorially independent publications are covering the story and giving it the attention it rightfully deserves.

I have faith that the American people will ultimately find out about this important story despite the best efforts of the media gatekeepers. But after this sorry episode, it’s hard to imagine how anyone could still have faith in the impartiality of Big Tech and the mainstream media.
