Disgraced Democrat Congresswoman Gets Hollywood Makeover

She thinks make believe will change the facts.

Former California Democrat Congresswoman Katie Hill had to resign in 2019 when she got caught and lied about a menage a trois plus  involving herself, two campaign workers, and her ex-husband. Rumors that the entire defensive line of the San Francisco 49ers were also involved turned out to be unfounded.

Given Hill was sleeping with her staff and thus in a position of power over them, supposedly a metoo no no, she knew her goose was cooked and refused to answer the questions of House investigators. She then hastily resigned from Congress. Republican Mike Garcia took the seat from the Democrats after the special election following Hill’s resignation. Also, to make her situation comically worse, looks like in the tweet below someone liberated her Twitter account.

Fox News gives a little backstory, “Last October, intimate texts and photographs of the congresswoman emerged, which she said in her book was revenge porn released by her ex-husband. She was also subject to rumors that she had a three-person relationship with her estranged husband and a female campaign staffer and was accused of having an affair with her congressional financial director, which prompted an investigation by the House Ethics Committee.” Our Katie certainly did get around. Of course, if a Republican male had done this it would be dastardly sexual harassment. But here? Nahhhh…

Do you think President Biden should be impeached for the crisis in Afghanistan and loss of American lives?

Since then Hill has pathetically tried to rationalize her pervy tendencies by playing to the pop culture. She released a book “She Will Rise: Becoming a Warrior in the Battle for True Equality,” which has got to win a prize for the clunkiest and most self-obsessed book title of all time. It tanked. Now, this week Hollywood has decided to try and take her “hello sailor” proclivities and turn them into a sob story about how the young victimized idealist was run out of office by the big mean men. Sadly Elizabeth Moss, once the wonderful Peggy Olson in Mad Men, has signed to play the insatiable vixen and had this public relations fodder put out to the press.

“I am so honored to have the opportunity to portray Katie and to help tell her story. Her strength and work to amplify women’s voices is incredibly inspiring to me and her experiences could not be more important for us to magnify right now.”

Hill told entertainment media about her lame attempt at regained respectability,  “I wrote ‘She Will Rise’ to try to take back my story from those who have exploited and twisted it. I also wanted to shine a light on the stories of women whose resilience and bravery gave me strength when I needed it most, and hopefully to provide inspiration to others…Having this larger platform to tell this story, working with the talented team at Blumhouse and Michael, and the incredible Elisabeth Moss as the lead, is more than I ever could have imagined,” she added. ‘I am so grateful for the opportunity and look forward to collaborating on this project.” But try as Hollywood might, the facts are the facts and no amount of Tinseltown fairy dust will change it. Though, really clean it up and it stands a great shot as Lifetime late-night filler.
