Hypocrisy is at the heart of the modern Democratic Party. Gun control, but not their armed guards. Freedom of speech, unless you disagree with them. And even in little mundane daily matters, they feel so entitled that they ignore the rules they mandate everybody else live under.

So it  happened Sunday in Democrat-run San Francisco in Democrat-run California that Democrat Nancy Pelosi decided that only little people had to obey the rules. That state’s Democrat-controlled state government has said no one can have their hair done without wearing a mask. Pelosi ignored the mask edict and then had a beauty parlor opened especially for her and her needs. Both of these acts are in violation of California virus regulations that Pelosi has lectured others on following. But Pelosi went ahead anyway. After all, rules are only for the peasants.

President Trump did not fail to comment: “Crazy Nancy Pelosi is being decimated for having a beauty parlor opened, when all others are closed, and for not wearing a Mask–despite constantly lecturing everyone else…”

His line on the House can be viewed as presidential cheerleading. But someone not a cheerleader for Pelosi is the owner of the eSalon. One of her stylists serviced Pelosi. The owner rents out chairs and thus has no control over the operations of a stylist, within reason. She commented, “It was a slap in the face that she [Pelosi] went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” owner Erica Kious told Fox News, adding that she ‘can’t believe’ the speaker didn’t have a mask on.”

“We’re supposed to look up to this woman, right?” Kious said. “It is just disturbing.”

Pelosi’s office spox replied, “The speaker always wears a mask and complies with local COVID requirements. This business offered for the speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business. The speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment.” That is a blatant lie, especially in regards to the mask issue.

Fox News: “Kious said Pelosi received a wash and a blow-dry, but told Fox News that ‘you’re not supposed to blow dry hair’ according to coronavirus safety precautions for hair salons.”

Ms. Kious elaborated: “We have been shut down for so long, not just me, but most of the small businesses and I just can’t – it’s a feeling – a feeling of being deflated, helpless and honestly beaten down. I have been fighting for six months for a business that took me 12 years to build to reopen. I am a single mom, I have two small children, and I have no income.”

The plight of Erica Kious has no bearing on the actions of Nancy Pelosi. She believes she’s better than the shop owner and thus deserves special attention. The American people likely feel very differently.
