The New York Times on Sunday, no doubt taking orders from the Biden campaign, smeared the president on the matter of his personal taxes. The president did indeed take advantage of tax breaks. But those tax breaks for the rich? Ironically, all laws passed during the Obama-Biden administration. The Times‘ numbers were comically wrong and they manipulated data to give the impression that the president paid hardly any taxes at all. That is a blatant lie and the president said as much.

“Its fake news, it’s totally made up,” President Trump said Sunday during a press conference only minutes after the story broke in the leftist newspaper. “Everything was wrong, they are so bad.”

Biden is also making taxes an issue in the presidential debate. Just before the debate he released his 2019 personal taxes. He has challenged the president to do the same.

Fox News reports on the Trump tax numbers, “According to the New York Times report, Trump, who has fiercely guarded his tax filings and is the only president in modern times not to make them public, paid $750 in taxes to the federal government the year he was elected and $750 again his first year in office.”

“I’ve paid a lot and I’ve paid a lot state income taxes too…The Fake News Media, just like Election time 2016, is bringing up my Taxes & all sorts of other nonsense with illegally obtained information & only bad intent…I paid millions of dollars in taxes but was entitled, like everyone else, to depreciation & tax credits. Also, if you look at the extraordinary assets owned by me, which the Fake News hasn’t, I am extremely under leveraged—I have very little debt compared to the value of assets.”

The president also said, “much of this information is already on file, but I have long said that I may release Financial Statements, from the time I announced I was going to run for President, showing all properties, assets and debts…It is a very IMPRESSIVE Statement, and also shows that I am the only President on record to give up my yearly $400,000 plus Presidential salary!”

An attorney for the Trump Organization, Alan Garten, said in a statement that Trump “has paid tens of millions of dollars in personal taxes to the federal government, including paying millions in personal taxes since announcing his candidacy in 2015…The New York Times’ story is riddled with gross inaccuracies. Over the past decade the President has paid tens of millions of dollars in personal taxes to the federal government. While we tried to explain this to the Times, they refused to listen and rejected our repeated request that they show us any of the documentation they purport to be relying on to substantiate their claims. Obviously this is just part of the Times’ ongoing smear campaign in the run up to the election.”

In a related story, many are wondering who leaked the president’s taxes to the New York Times. There has been DC speculation it was Brad Parscale, and he did it in retaliation for his recent demotion in the Trump campaign organization.
