Charlie Kirk needs little introduction; he is the face of the young conservative movement, an advisor to President Trump and the founder of one of the largest youth organizations: Turning Point USA.

The 26 year old analyst was a highlight on the second day of the Texas Youth Summit, held at Grace Woodlands Church this past weekend.

Within hours of the news of Justice Gingsburg’s death, Kirk had a podcast posted on his channel, The Charlie Kirk Show, covering the impact that Justice Ginsburg made on this county during her tenure on the court.

Kirk honored her life and the achievements of her amazing career.

Intentionally, he did not begin by addressing the political ramifications of her death, but instead acknowledged the incredible individual that she was. He did go into the comments made from both sides of the aisle regarding her death.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, for example tweeted, “The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”

Then, realizing he immediately politicized her death, tweeted out the following shortly after the first tweet:

“Tonight, we mourn the passing of a giant in American history, a champion for justice, a trailblazer for women. She would want us all to fight as hard as we can to preserve her legacy.”

Kirk then went into analysis of how Justice Ginsburg’s death will effect the days leading up to the presidential election.

Reaching younger generations is incredibly important to Kirk, evident by his founding of Turning Point USA, as well as his appearance at this Summit.

When asked about reaching youth with the conservative message, Kirk responded, “We have to be very vocal on social media, continue to engage in the classrooms, and parents need to take the education of our children more seriously … we’ve allowed very bitter and very deceitful educators to have a monopoly over what’s being taught to our kids and today is a very big event to help impact that and hopefully turn this around.”

His suggestions about proactively managing the education of our children were, “Homeschool if they can. Try to find a schooling environment that teaches the classics: western civilization, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, the ideas that built western society, biblical ideas as well … parents need to be more involved. No more, ‘oh it’s the school’s responsibility …’ no … the school is going to screw it up.”

The importance of this election is arguably higher than it’s ever been in our history. Filling the 9th seat on our high court is a ‘matter of national security’, according to Kirk.

The priority of reaching first time voters is critical with Kirk commenting, “We must communicate the significance of this election: we now have a supreme court fight that’s about to happen the middle of this election …”

He continued, “Politics is not a spectator sport, it’s an activist sport; you have to get involved and if people haven’t voted before if you’ve waited 15 minutes in line for a Starbucks coffee and you won’t wait in line for 15 minutes at most to go vote, then your priorities are backwards.”
