Police in Boulder, Colorado are on the hunt for a woman who allegedly physically attacked a 12-year-old boy over his pro-Donald Trump sign.

The assault reportedly occurred at around 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, according to The Denver Post. At the time of the attack, the unnamed boy was riding his bike with a pro-Trump sign when a woman passed him on a moped. The young boy said that she then made a U-turn so that she could confront the child over the sign.

The woman reportedly told the boy “You want something to look at?” before she punched him, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Aulabaugh. The spokeswoman added that the woman closed her fists as she pummeled the boy in the head, giving him several blows. As the boy fell to the ground, the woman scratched him as she continued the attack.

The boy later told police that the woman tried to steal his sign after the assault, but she was not able to get away with it.

The boy later told Denver7 News that while this is not the first time he had been attacked for expressing his support for President Trump, an adult has never attacked him before.

“I like showing what I believe in,” he said. “I didn’t want any conflict – I just wanted to show what I believe in.”

The boy said that the attack has left him frightened of expressing his support for Trump. He then issued a call for people to start respecting political opinions that differ from their own.

“Just don’t attack people ‘cause what she did to me – that’s not okay,” he said.

The boy’s father has said that he will be pressing charges against the woman if police find her. Officers say that she is a white woman in her 20s or 30s who was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a tan jacket at the time of the alleged attack. The boy said that the moped she was on was either blue or gray.
