Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, desperate to gain traction with Hispanic voters in Florida, compared President Trump to the late Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro.

Biden made the comments during an interview with Univision Orlando on Tuesday.

Polls have consistently shown Biden struggling with Latino voters in Florida. Politico reports that Biden’s advantage amongst the group is 16 points less than Hillary Clinton had in 2016.

“Trump has more in common with Castro than with Churchill,” Biden snarled. “Look who he admires. He admires Putin, he admires Xi, he admires everyone who behaves in an authoritarian way. I am the exact opposite. I have faith in the democratic system.”

WHO Aligns With Castro?

There is quite a bit to break down in the Biden comments. For instance, a guy claiming he has ‘faith in the democratic system’ when he is already on record suggesting he may have to remove President Trump from office by using the military is super-rich.

That sounds like something Castro would do.

Aside from that, there is a mountain of evidence that Biden is much closer aligned to the late Cuban dictator than the current President.

First off, it was the Obama-Biden administration that normalized American relations with Castro’s brother, Raul, himself a dictator.

Obama’s statement offering “a hand of friendship to the Cuban people” in the spring before his last year in office obscured the communist dictator’s record of oppression and murder.

Remember the Biden-Bernie Unity Platform?

Let’s not forget that the Biden nomination includes a pledge to team up with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to push a more radical agenda for the Democrat party.

It is known as the ‘progressive unity platform’ and socialists and Democrats alike believe it is “a good policy blueprint that will move this country in a much-needed progressive direction.”

Remember – Sanders bragged that Biden might be the most progressive President in modern times because he had forced the former Vice President to adopt many of his own policies.

And guess who Bernie models his platforms on?

“We’re very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad,” the Democrat socialist told CNN as recently as February.

“You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?”

Sanders, now a Biden supporter, once recalled being “very excited when Fidel Castro made the revolution in Cuba.”

Now, he’s just as excited about what Biden represents.

“The compromise they came up with, if implemented, will make Biden the most progressive president since FDR,” Sanders beamed.

The Reality

Maximo Alvarez, a Cuban-American businessman, revealed that it is Biden who closely resembles Castro in a speech to the Republican National Convention.

“I have seen people like this before. I’ve seen movements like this before. I’ve seen ideas like this before,” he said referencing radicals overtaking the Democrat party.

“I am here to tell you – we cannot let them take over our country,” Alvarez warned. “I heard the promises of Fidel Castro. And I can never forget all those who grew up around me, who looked like me, who suffered and starved and died because they believed those empty promises. They swallowed the communist poison pill.”

Ricardo Gomez, a former police officer in Miami, told USA Today “his family fought too hard to flee Fidel Castro’s Cuba only to end up with a socialist-leaning administration in the United States.”

Biden, he believes, has adopted the socialist mindset.

“They’ve adopted Bernie Sanders, they’ve adopted the AOC model,” said Gomez. “They’re not calling the anarchists in the street burning and looting what they are … street thugs.”

“Do we want this to become another Cuba?” he asked.

Biden’s comments aren’t based in reality. It’s a desperate attempt to pander to Hispanic voters. Almost as bad as playing the Spanish-language song “Despacito” while kicking off his Hispanic Heritage Month speech earlier this week.

Biden’s comments reek of desperation. He needs Hispanic support to carry Florida, a critical swing state. President Trump needs only remind voters of just how closely aligned the former Vice President is with Sanders and Obama.
