Biden Claims He Isn’t Socialist, Spars with Bernie Sanders and Progressives

Biden slams Sanders in Wisconsin.

Somebody put a muzzle on the guy. On second thought, don’t. For when Biden is supposed to be talking about Democrat Party unity and keeping all those idiot socialists under his tent to beat Trump, instead he trashes their leader in a state that, though it went for Trump in 2016, is a historic progressive bastion.

It all started Monday with Biden’s usual “I’m not a commie, really I’m not” speech to a Wisconsin television reporter. The very fact that he has to defend against that shows how well the president’s message is getting through, thereby putting Biden on reactive defense.

The reporter asked, “If you could address our camera directly, talk to the voters that are worried about socialism and you raising taxes…”

Biden responded, “First of all, I guarantee, a promise, I’ve never broken my word (hahaha haha-Ed. ), anyone making less than $400,000 will not see one single penny in their tax raised.” That will go down with “read my lips- no new taxes” and, “you’ll get to keep your doctor”, as promises not worth the breath they were uttered upon. Then Joe, forgetting who he is running against, says this.

“Number two, I beat the socialist. That’s how I got elected. That’s how I got the nomination. Do I look like a socialist? Look at my career, my whole career. I am not a socialist.”

Okay granted, he’s probably personally not a socialist. A corrupt crony capitalist doddering fool? Yes. But not an out an out Bolshie. But guess what Joe? When you lie down with dogs you get fleas. Your party, platform, party leaders, much of your base, and message are all socialist. So when you make that claim people are gonna scoff. Except the actual Sanderista socialists. They are gonna be ticked off. Like this.

Fox News elucidates, “The independent senator from Vermont also believes Biden’s centrist rather than progressive approach could lead to another Democratic loss, the sources said. Still, some of Biden’s policies have undoubtedly moved farther to the left as the Democratic Party continues to become more progressive. Biden has reportedly kept adistance between himself and some progressives like Ocasio-Cortez amid attacks from Trump that Biden is controlled by the ‘radical left’ and socialists.”

So Sanders thinks you’re selling him out, even as others think you’ve sold out to Sanders. Not good Joe. Not good at all. Still, the Sanders people are trying to put a good face on it.

“Senator Sanders is confident that Joe Biden is in a very strong position to win this election, but nevertheless feels there are areas the campaign can continue to improve upon,” Sanders’ former campaign manager Faiz Shakir said to the press. “He has been in direct contact with the Biden team and has urged them to put more emphasis on how they will raise wages, create millions of good-paying jobs, lower the cost of prescription drugs and expand health care coverage.”

Not good enough. There’s trouble between Joe and the Bolshies. That can’t help him or the Democrats in November.
