President Donald Trump just got some terrible news when his beloved younger brother Robert was rushed to the hospital in New York, with one source saying that the 72-year-old is “very ill.”

White House spokesperson Judd Deere said that the president is expected to visit his brother in the hospital on Friday, according to Breitbart News. President Trump had already been planning to visit his property in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Friday.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany confirmed Robert’s hospitalization to ABC News, saying that the president and his brother “have a very good relationship.” She added that President Trump will provide more details on the situation later on. Back in June, Robert spent over a week in the intensive care unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Robert recently made headlines for filing a lawsuit on the behalf of the Trump family seeking to stop publication of a tell-all book by the president’s niece Mary, titled “Too Much and Never Enough.” The Trump family alleged that Mary’s book violated a nondisclosure agreement she had signed in connection to a financial settlement she received from the family years prior.

At the time of the filing, Robert said that he was “deeply disappointed” in his niece’s decision to write such a book and that he and the “entire family” were “so proud of my wonderful brother, the president.” Mary is the daughter of the president’s eldest sibling, Fred Trump Jr., who struggled with alcoholism and died in 1981 at the age of 43.

President Trump’s older sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, just retired recently as a federal judge, according to New York Daily News. Robert and his sister Elizabeth Trump Grau are retired business executives, with him having worked in real estate and her in banking.

Robert spent years working in the Trump Organization after following the future president’s footsteps into the family business.
