Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D), who is rumored to be on the shortlist to be Joe Biden’s running mate, just spoke out to defend the racist comments that he made about the way black people vote.
During an interview on Thursday, Biden said, “unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”

Bottoms went on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” to defend Biden, attempting to clarify that he was trying to make a statement about “voting patterns.” Though Bottoms admitted that Biden should have worded what he said better, she added, “I know that he doesn’t believe that we are a monolith.”
“I believe what he was trying to articulate was just in terms of voting patterns, but I know that he doesn’t believe that we are a monolith. Because I’ve had these conversations with the vice president directly, and we’ve talked about the growing importance and voice of the progressive wing of the party, fueled, in large part, by younger African Americans.
“So, I know that he does not believe that. And I know that, as his policies have come forth, his policies reflect his appreciation for the diversity within the African American community. And I do think, obviously, that it perhaps could have been expressed better. But I know his heart, and I know the conversations that I have had with him directly, and what he’s expressed to me about his appreciation of the diversity within the African American community.”
Watch the video below for dialogue between Mayor Bottoms and Andrew Mitchell, regarding the Atlanta mayors sentiments about Joe Biden’s comments (at the 4:39-mark):
Had President Donald Trump said anything like what Biden said, we all know that all hell would have broken loose, and the media would be all over him. Since it was Biden who made this comment, however, the media is working overboard to both defend him and sweep this under the rug.
The hypocrisy of liberals never ceases to amaze.
