As the NFL does its best at attempting to salvage the 2020-21 season, teams are back at their facility preparing, though under strict COVID-19 restrictions.
And while not every team has determined how they will handle fans, if they allow them all, some are hoping to have limited capacity in attendance. Others have set capacities at a certain percentage such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, while other like the Las Vegas Raiders have determined that no fans will be permitted in their new stadium this season.
Regardless of whether there are fans in the seats or not though, all teams can agree, they just want the actual season to happen and players to remain healthy.
Certainly, more changes to individual team and league policy over the next several weeks are expected, but one thing that became clear this weekend is that Seahawks rookie Kemah Siverand will not be seen in a Seahawks uniform.
The rookie cornerback out of Oklahoma State was cut after he was seen on video trying to sneak a woman into the team hotel, and subsequently breaking the COVID policy.
Doing so potentially put the entire organization at risk, jeopardizing the hard work they had put in to follow strict guidelines and keep players, coaches and personnel healthy.
Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter saying “The #Seahawks cut rookie CB Kemah Siverand this week after he was caught on video trying to sneak a female visitor into the team hotel, per sources.”
He continued, “Clear message on the responsibility everyone has in the NFL’s COVID-19 world: Put the team at risk, suffer the consequences,”

It’s unclear if another team will pick up Siverand before the start of the season, but certainly character and judgement will play into any discussions between GMs and coaches considering it.
As the NFL battles to make the season happen, and players endure new restrictions and policies to protect each other during the pandemic, there is no place for such a careless and selfish move.
The populous has viewed the virus in their own ways, which everyone is entitled to do, but with football being the ultimate team sport and so much on the line, actions like this deserve the consequences he received. You had a huge opportunity, and you blew it kid.
