Major League Soccer lets Texas fans watch game: They immediately boo national anthem-kneelers

Major League Soccer is currently the only professional sports league in the United States that is letting fans come watch their games, but this quickly came back to bite one team in Texas, where spectators wasted no time in booing those who took a knee during the national anthem.

When players for the FC Dallas and Nashville SC teams took a knee during Wednesday night’s game in Frisco, fans immediately started booing them, according to The Guardian. This enraged Dallas defender Reggie Cannon, who said he was disgusted to hear the boos from all over the Toyota Stadium.

“You can’t even have support from your own fans in your own stadium. It’s baffling to me,” Cannon said. “As a team we try to give the best possible product on the field and these last six months have been absolute hell for us. Absolute hell. You got fans booing you for people taking a stand for what they believe in.”

“Millions of other people support this cause and we discussed with every other team and the league what we’re going to do and we’ve got fans booing us in our own stadium,” he added. “How disgraceful is that? Honestly, for lack of a better word, it pissed me off.”

It looks like Cannon just learned the hard way that the people of the great state of Texas won’t tolerate disrespect towards the American flag and the national anthem!

Do you agree that protesting is acceptable, but rioting is not?

This comes after numerous players in the NFL, NBA, and MLB took a knee during the anthem before their games once their season restarted after the hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. They claim that they are taking a knee to protest against racial inequality in the United States, but many Americans see this move as a clear slap in the face to the American flag and those who have fought and died for it.

We applaud these Texas spectators for sending a message to anyone who kneels during the national anthem. We aren’t going to stay silent while they disrespect our country anymore.
