In an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” back in 2018, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s VP pick, laughed hysterically after joking about killing President Donald Trump.
Kamala Harris appeared on DeGeneres’ show in April 2018, before she announced her since-failed run for president, choosing to stay quiet about her ambitions. Instead, Ellen DeGeneres asked Harris a number of questions including celebrity crushes and embarrassing things she did as a kid.
DeGeneres then turned to Harris and asked her if she had to be stuck in an elevator with one of either President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, or Senator Jeff Sessions, who would she pick to be stuck with? After turning away for a split second, Harris quipped “Does one of us have to come out alive?”
Both Harris and the audience laughed hysterically at her answer, with DeGeneres clapping after putting down her question cards.
A number of conservatives online recently found the clip from 2018 and posted it, wondering if there would be the same reaction from the crowd and from the mainstream media as a whole if the roles were flipped. Would the crowd break into raucous laughter if a Republican had joked about killing Barack Obama, for example? The answer is, of course, very much no.

It’s no surprise that Harris and DeGeneres laughed together about such a tasteless joke, given that both of them are, in my honest opinion, rather terrible people. DeGeneres herself has come under fire recently, with numerous staff coming out saying she not only treated them horribly, but had a rather bizarre series of rules that everyone had to conform to, or face firing.
Clearly the interviewer and interviewee are made for each other! Who knows: if Biden beats Trump and then croaks in office, will we see Vice President Ellen DeGeneres serving President Kamala Harris? It would be rather fitting!
