On Sunday, U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr defined the recent civil unrest better than any public figure to date (with the exception of this publication), whose exact terminology he is likely inadvertently employing. He shared his analysis with Mark Levin on Fox News.

Barr described Antifa and Black Lives Matter. “They are a revolutionary group that is interested in some form of socialism, communism. They’re essentially Bolsheviks. Their tactics are fascistic,” said Barr, echoing LifeZette sentiments.

Barr understands their Nazi S.A. tactics and their Bolshevik ideology. He also comprehends the way they operate, saying, “The way the guerrilla…hides out among the people as a fish in the ocean…what they do is they are essentially shielding themselves or shrouding themselves in First Amendment activity. They go into the demonstrations, which are exercising First Amendment activity, and they insinuate themselves in there to shield themselves. That’s where they swim. And what they do is they hijack these demonstrations and they provoke violence.”

Bingo. Exactly. Perfect. He went on to explain, “The Left has pulled away from the umbrella of classical liberal values that have undergirded America” and are making a “secular religion” out of pursuing “complete political victory.”

He said since 2016 when the president was elected, “and from that point forward, there’s been the resistance. They were trying to impeach him from Day One. They have done everything they can…and I think it’s because of the desire for power that the Left wants… They want to run people’s lives so they can design utopia for all of us…and it’s the lust for power. And they weren’t expecting Trump’s victory. And it outrages them.”

As to the violent nature of the riots, Barr explained, “You don’t see it on the networks. You don’t see it on the other cable stations. And yet you hear about these peaceful demonstrators. So it’s you know, it’s just a lie.” Barr’s opined on the media: “it’s wedded in many ways to the Democratic Party.”

The very riots, urban decay, and urban unrest Barr speaks of (that is championed by Antifa) are driving even the most liberal effete New Yorkers out of their Upper West Side enclaves. It is sweet irony.

Elizabeth Carr, one of the Upper West Side’s leading citizens, is packing up and leaving New York City. “In the best of times, NYC is a hard place to live. Now you have all this other stuff. It’s a question for families…to have to see a guy masturbating on the corner or explain to my kids while I’m buying diapers at Duane Reade why this guy wearing no shoes is collapsed on the floor and they’re doing CPR on him,” she told the New York Post. The riots have only made it worse and less safe.

“We reached our New York expiration date,” said Carr. “Things weren’t heading in the right direction. What we’re seeing now isn’t at all surprising… It’s this slow slide. How can families stay here? Does the city want families to stay?”

“There was no reason to leave before,” said another born-and-bred Upper West Side mom, who asked for anonymity. “Now, I’m done. I can leave tomorrow and never look back. If I never came back to this block, that would be fine.”

That’s what Marxist Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Bolsheviks in the streets have done to a once proud and safe city. If the Democrats win in November, it could be coming to your town too.
