Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeted a poem after being told that she will only have one minute to speak at the DNC next week.

On Wednesday, Business Insider reported that Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) will only be given sixty seconds to speak at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), a big snub to the congresswoman and the socialist wing of the party. AOC will record her comments to the DNC, which will then be broadcast as part of the virtual event.

Reacting to the story, AOC posted a short poem entitled “God’s Minute” from Dr. Benjamin E Mays, a civil rights leader.

“I only have a minute. Sixty seconds in it. Forced upon me, I did not choose it, But I know that I must use it,” the tweet reads. “Give account if I abuse it. Suffer if I lose it. Only a tiny little minute, But eternity is in it.”

Many leftists on Twitter were aghast at the ill treatment of AOC, who they consider as a rising star among the party.

“What a slap to the Progressive wing,” one tweeted. “It’s a constant spite of us. They think we will cower and peter out. They are wrong. We ain’t going anywhere. With AOC as our leader we’re just getting started. Now that the squad was re-elected we are ready to rumble in the halls of Congress.”

“Other speakers should finish early then say at the end of their that the remainder of their time is going to AOC,” another replied, including the hashtag #LetHerSpeak. Yet another Twitter user described the decision as “an insult.”

Does it terrify you that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a congresswoman?

As a conservative, I just find this whole affair rather hilarious. It’s funny to see the Left tear itself apart, especially the infighting between the old Democrat establishment and the new, radical socialists within the party. If this is the future of the Left, I think we should all stock up on some more popcorn!
