Disturbing new reports are indicating that the NFL is planning to play the black national anthem before the opening games of the season.

A source told ESPN that the song “Lift Ev’ry Voice And Sing,” which is known as the black national anthem, will be played before the “Star-Spangled-Banner.” This is expected to happen at the season opening game on September 10, when the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Houston Texans.

The NFL is reportedly hoping that this move will show “a genuine commitment to the public, players and coaches and that player voices continue to be heard,” according to the source. “This is key to educating fans, and becoming a prominent voice in the fight to end racism,” the source added.

This comes after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke out to apologize for not doing more to help players who took a knee during the national anthem to protest against racial inequality in the United States. “We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people. We, the National Football League, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier, and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest,” he said. “We, at the National Football League, believe Black Lives Matter. I personally protest with you and want to be part of the much-needed change in this country.”

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick led the charge in these anthem-kneeling protests, which many saw as a slap in the face to the American flag and to those who have fought and died for it. Liberals have turned Kaepernick into a martyr of sorts, claiming that he has not been signed by another football team in three years because he is “racist.” Others, however, have pointed out that Kaepernick led the 49ers to an abysmal losing record during his final season with the team, citing his lack of football skills as the reason he has yet to be signed.

It’s unfortunate to see that the NFL is catering to the race-baiting Left in such a blatantly anti-American way. The league should not be surprised if this move backfires on them, and ends up costing them millions of fans (lost patronage) who love this country.
