Over one hundred law enforcement agencies have pulled out of agreements to safeguard Democrats and attendees at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), with the main reason being that they are uncomfortable having to use the limitations of non-lethal weapons that the Left has been forcing them to use in violent riots all over the country.

Last month, Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales was forced to change the department’s policies to ban the use of tear gas and pepper spray, according to Daily Wire. Since the DNC convention is set to take place in the Wisconsin, this has raised concerns for the various police agencies that had agreed to provide security and protect those at the event.

“Since the Milwaukee order was issued, more than 100 law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin and across the country decided against coming to Milwaukee, Morales told WTMJ-TV on Tuesday,” reported the Associated Press. “They were concerned with directives [limitations] placed on the police department, including not allowing tear gas or pepper spray, he said.”

Franklin Police Chief Rick Oliva agreed with this sentiment.

“It is apparent there is a lack of commitment to provide the Milwaukee Police Department with the resources it needs to ensure the safety of peaceful protesters, attendees, citizens and police personnel,” he explained. “I can not send personnel if they are not properly equipped or will not be allowed to engage in appropriate actions which would ensure their safety.”

Waukesha Police Chief Daniel Thompson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that his department also would not be sending officers.

“I understand that use of chemical irritants and pepper spray is serious and those are to be used only when legally justified,” he said. “But when you take that out of the continuum, that doesn’t leave the officers much other than getting harmed or using deadly force, and that’s not good for any officer or the public.”

This comes after weeks of Democrats tolerating violent riots all over the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd. Instead of putting a stop to the violence, Democrat leaders have encouraged it by making police out to be the enemy. Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) went so far last month as to say that police were a “cancer.”

“The Minneapolis Police Department is rotten to the root, and so when we dismantle it, we get rid of that cancer, and we allow for something beautiful to rise, and that reimagining allows us to figure out what public safety looks like for us,” Omar said.

No wonder police want nothing to do with Democrats and their convention.
