Sunday showed no respite in the mob rule that grips the streets of many American cities, as violent rioters came close to entering the grounds of the White House. The crowds likely had one thing in mind: get Donald Trump. The only thing that stopped them was the courage and determination of the U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies who, as they watched human refuse destroy property including their own cars and equipment, kept their cool and did their job.

DC police had to fire tear gas and stun grenades into a crowd of more than 1,000 baying thugs across the street from the White House. The crowd ran as they tasted and inhaled the sickly pungent scent of the gas. In retreat they piled up road signs to light a fire in a nearby street. Into that fire the rioters threw an American flag. If there was any doubt as to the main motivation of the rioters, that treatment of our nation’s flag should put the question to rest.

The district’s full contingent of National Guard, 1,700 soldiers, was called in to help control the riot. As the unrest grew, President Trump retweeted conservative commentator Buck Sexton who called for “overwhelming force” against violent demonstrators.

Meanwhile in Wilmington, Delaware, former veep and de facto Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden went out of his way, by taking a knee in the style of Colin Kaepernick, to show his sympathy and support for the looters, thieves, and arsonists who are trying to burn down major American cities. On Sunday night, those cities still burned. Here are the latest reports from across the nation.

Thousands of National Guard soldiers were deployed in 17 states to help quell violent protests. Mayors and governors from coast to coast enacted curfews and shut down mass transit systems. Rioters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at police in Philadelphia, they were hit with tear gas and pepper spray in Austin, and seven Boston police officers were hospitalized.

Atlanta law enforcement fired tear gas to disperse rioters. In Los Angeles, a police SUV sped up and ran into several rioters, knocking two people to the ground. That’s at least 25 points per, boys and girls. Nearby in Santa Monica, rioting thieves broke into stores, walking out with boxes of shoes and folding chairs. In doing so, they certainly showed a deep commitment to racial justice.

More human detritus swarmed into nearby outlet stores in Long Beach. Some hauled armloads of clothing from a Forever 21 store. Dr. King would not be exactly proud, as the Selma bus boycott had little to do with mall clothing. Indianapolis saw two people killed in the rioting. Several deaths were reported in Detroit and more in Minneapolis.

In a tweet on Sunday the president blasted the media for fueling violence and anarchy. He’s right. As the media aphorism goes, “If it bleeds, it leads.”

Attorney General William Barr on Sunday cited reports from law enforcement, media, and intel agencies, that stated “far left extremist” groups were responsible for the violence raging across the country. These groups, other reports show, are highly organized, coordinated from a central point, and have ready access to cash to fund operations and pay street rioters.
