House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had a truly bizarre and disturbing meltdown on Tuesday, when she outrageously claimed that Republicans are “trying to get away with…the murder of George Floyd.” This came just one day after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) set a date for a vote on the police reform bill being pushed by the GOP.

While speaking to CBS News Radio, Pelosi went on the attack against Republicans, going so far as to say that Floyd’s death is their fault. “The press has given them so much play for this unsalvageable piece of legislation and then say, ‘well, can’t you compromise with that?’ No, it’s because it is no and we are yes,” Pelosi said of the Republican legislation. “We’re saying no chokeholds. They’re not saying no to chokeholds. I mean, there’s a big difference there. What’s the compromise? Some chokeholds? I don’t see what the compromise is.”

“For something to happen, they’re going to have to face the reality of police brutality,” Pelosi continued. “The reality of the need for justice in policing, and the recognition that there are many, many good people in law enforcement, but not all and that we have to address those concerns.”

“So when they admit that and have some suggestions that are worthy of consideration, but so far they were trying to get away with murder, actually,” she added. “The murder of George Floyd.”

National Republican Campaign Committee spokesman Michael McAdams has already fired back, saying that “Nancy Pelosi needs to immediately apologize to Republicans for her deplorable accusations.”

“Either @SpeakerPelosi knows what she is saying and should immediately apologize or she doesn’t know what’s (sic) she’s saying and is no longer fit for public office,” the NRCC also tweeted in response.

Blaming Republicans for the death of Floyd is unfortunately a new low for Pelosi. This just goes to show that she really will do and say anything just to obtain more power for herself and her party.
