Newsom plans to slash $19 billion from schools, give $75 million to illegal aliens

This move of Newsom's proves once and for all that Democrats care more about illegal aliens than they do about real Americans.

California will be giving $75 million to illegal aliens on Monday, thanks to Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom who made this move right after he slashed $19 billion in funding for schools in the state.

Newsom’s Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants Project is set to provide $125 million to illegal immigrants, $75 million of which coming from California taxpayers and the other $50 million from private philanthropic groups, according to The Blaze. Each illegal adult will be eligible for a one-time payment of $500 that then caps out at $1,000 per household.

To qualify for this package, a person has to be an undocumented immigrant of at least 18 years of age who experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They also can’t have received payments from federal COVID-19 support programs such as the CARES Act.

California officials will not be giving the money to illegal immigrants themselves, as they will be having private groups do so instead so that the government won’t be able to collect any information on the illegal aliens. Newsom announced this plan in April, but it will only be going into affect on Monday.

“California is the most diverse state in the nation. Our diversity makes us stronger and more resilient. Every Californian, including our undocumented neighbors and friends, should know that California is here to support them during this crisis. We are all in this together,” Newsom said in a statement at the time of the announcement.

This comes just days after California was forced to significantly cut the state’s budget. On Thursday, Newsom unveiled his revised state budget plan in which he announced plans to cut funding over the next two years for public schools and community colleges by $19 billion. Going into the months of economic hardships that are expected following the COVID-19 lockdowns, California is expected to suffer a budget deficit of $54.3 billion.

This move of Newsom’s proves once and for all that Democrats care more about illegal aliens than they do about real Americans. Illegal aliens committed a crime just by coming to this country in the first place, so the fact that the California government is rewarding them for their crimes with money while cutting funding for schools is an absolute travesty.
