Liberal writer Katha Pollitt wrote in The Nation recently, “I would vote for Joe Biden if he boiled babies and ate them. He wasn’t my candidate, but taking back the White House is that important. Four more years of Trump will replace what remains of our democracy with unchecked rule by kleptocrats, fascists, religious fanatics, gun nuts, and know-nothings.” In accepting this kind of support and not denouncing it, the Democrats have sunk to a new moral and ethical low.

The Nation is a far progressive, even pro-communist publication of some standing. For many decades it has championed far-left causes and candidates to the point of giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies. It continues to do so by what Pollitt wrote above.

Miss Pollitt claims that President Trump will bring rule by “kleptocrats, fascists, religious fanatics, gun nuts, and know-nothings.” But how do Pollitt’s own ideological brethren rate on those categories?

A kleptocrat is a politician who steals. Progressives have been stealing from the American taxpayer for over a century. From the personal income tax, to Prohibition, to The Great Society, to even today as they try to use tax dollars in virus relief bills to fund their pet schemes and get their governors out of self-created financial messes, those who The Nation has supported for office have defined kleptocracy. And what of the Soviets, whom the publication also supported for decades?

They stole from their own people, as the average person lived a sad and gray life while the communist party machinery lived high on the hog. The Soviets also robbed their satellite nations of raw materials, industry, and personnel to feather their nest at home. So Pollitt needs to look closer to home if she wants to find the real thieves.

Fascists? A word thrown around by progressives and communists to describe anyone to their right or middle, fascism is defined by socialist economics and suppression of political rights like free speech, freedom of faith, and freedom of assembly. Isn’t that a perfect definition of the AOC/PC wing of the modern Democratic Party, not to mention the old Soviet Union that Pollitt and The Nation praised to the hilt?

Even at this point in this year’s presidential election and the concurrent virus crisis around the nation, Democrat governors are using the virus to limit and stop church services, forbid rallies and speeches against their policies, and limit the ability for voters to access information about their dealings and measures. Again, Pollitt and her ilk warning of incipient fascism is an irony that could be cured by looking in the mirror.

Religious fanatics? How is socialism, and its rejection of God, not a religion itself? G.K. Chesterton said, “When you don’t believe in God it’s not that you believe in nothing, it’s that you’ll believe in anything.” The God that Pollitt follows failed many decades ago in the firing squads of the October Revolution, in the forced famine of the Ukraine, in the gold mines of the Kolyma, in the rice paddies of communist China, and in the killing fields of Cambodia. As for gun nuts and know-nothings? Guns keep us free from the friends of Pollitt and know-nothings can de defined in this instance by people who do not learn from history, like Pollitt.

So for Pollitt to libel Trump supporters in this way —not to mention her disgusting sarcastic offer to eat babies— and support Biden is a mark of the present state of the Democrats and the Biden campaign. It will probably go even lower than this.
