They may be socialists. They may be social justice warriors and PC types. But they are not hypocrites on this issue.

Several aides from the defunct Bernie Sanders campaign for president, and other backers of the Vermont senator, do not believe Joe Biden when it comes to the charges made by Tara Reade. Reade alleges that Biden sexually assaulted her when she worked as a Senate staffer in the 1990s. Biden and his campaign claim total innocence. They say it never happened and they refuse to talk about it in any detail. This from the same people, the Democrats who now back Biden, who tried to destroy Brett Kavanaugh over much less.

But former Sanders senior adviser Winnie Wong tweeted: “We all do (believe her). The video of Tara Reade’s late mother calling into Larry King to blow the whistle about Tara’s sexual assault is being met with relative silence from a cadre of progressives right now and I want you all to know that I see you.”

Briahna Joy Gray, former Sanders press secretary, said, “Progressives didn’t make this happen. Corporate Democrats chose Biden,” she added: “It’s a good time to note that Bernie’s on the ballot.”

Bernie backer Shaun King tweeted, after a clip resurfaced of Reade’s mother calling into the “Larry King Show” on CNN not long after the incident and talking about her daughter’s traumatic experience with Biden, “Have had a lot of prominent Democrats write me, many in the past few minutes, say they think this Larry King video is damaging for Joe Biden, and bolsters Tara Reade’s credibility. But that they think speaking about it will help Trump so they won’t say anything.”

Politics before people. Welcome to the Biden campaign. Didn’t they say during the Kavanaugh hearings, and on other issues, that every woman should be believed? Apparently, only when the woman toes the Democrat line.

Fox News reports that, “The National Organization for Women (NOW) also did not respond to comments from Fox News. The offices of Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., former 2020 hopefuls who have been floated as possible VP picks for Biden, did not respond to requests for comment about the latest development… Other names floated as possible running mates also did not immediately respond to requests for comment, including: Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H.; Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H.; New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham; Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev.; Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill.; Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz.; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.”

Silence. From the party which screams to high heaven on any charge of sexual misconduct when it is leveled against a Republican. Silence.
