Former “Charmed” star-turned-#MeToo activist Rose McGowan spoke out to blast The Washington Post yesterday after the news source published a story that was critical of Tara Reade, who has accused Joe Biden of sexual assault.

The Washington Post reportedly tried to cast doubt over Reade’s claim in their story, noting that while she now claims that Biden pinned her against a wall and penetrated her with his fingers, she had previously said last year that he only touched her neck and shoulders. The Daily Wire reported that The Washington Post also attacked Reade’s claims by noting:

That she had become a vocal supporter of Biden’s chief rival for the Democratic nomination, Senator Bernie Sanders; that the Post “found no other allegations against him as serious as Reade’s”; that Reade had filed a police complaint last Thursday but had not named Biden; that Reade had claimed she had informed a therapist about the alleged assault but had not come forth with the therapist’s notes when the Post asked for them, and that although Reade said that in 1993 she filed a complaint with a congressional human resources or personnel office, she could not currently remember the exact name of the office and “the Post could find no record of the complaint, and Reade said she never received a copy.”

McGowan was infuriated by this clear attempt to invalidate Reade’s story “This is not journalism, this is an agenda. This is a hit piece,” McGowan wrote. “You’ve sunk to a new low in slanted journalism and victim shaming @Washington Post.”

The way The Washington Post has handled the allegations against Biden is starkly different to the way they treated the sexual assault claims made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018. “Just as we treat Kavanaugh with respect when referring to him, we should afford Ford the same respect. She, like Kavanaugh, needs to be seen to be fairly heard,” The Post stated at the time.

The Post even later ran a story titled, “Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford moved 3,000 miles to reinvent her life. It wasn’t far enough.” We’re glad to see that McGowan is not afraid to call out the mainstream media for their hypocrisy, which is glaringly obvious now more than ever. They only wanted to “believe all women” when a conservative was being accused, but all of that is being thrown out the window now that their beloved liberal candidate of choice is under fire. We need more people in Hollywood to have the courage to call out the biased media, just as McGowan is. This has all gone way too far, and the media needs to be held accountable for what they are doing.
