A group of pro-life activists were standing outside an abortion clinic in Detroit, Michigan last Monday when some police officers arrived on the scene and tried to force them to leave. Before long, however, the situation took a turn that nobody was expecting.

The cops accused the activists standing outside Scotsdale Women’s Center and Family Planning of violating the stay at home order that was put in place by Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has allowed abortion providers to stay open as an essential business, according to Live Action.

Though the order does allow people to be outside, the cops claimed that the activists were violating the order.

“We’re here for a violation of the stay-at-home order by the governor, OK?” one mask-wearing officer can be heard saying in the video below. “This isn’t essential to be out right now. … it’s a $500 fine. If you keep this up after that, we’ll take you to jail.”

The protesters, however, refused to back down.

“Murdering babies in this country is essential,” one protester said as he became emotional. “It’s an essential business that must continue no matter what. That’s the nation we live in. We as the Church [have] got to wake up.”

The officers and the protesters continued to argue back and forth, with one cop eventually saying “my boss is coming, and if my boss orders me to lock everybody up, that’s what we’ll do.”

Finally, the activists asks the officers if they could pray for them, and that’s when something truly remarkable happened: as they prayed for the cops, three of them turned around and left, and two of the officers who had been arguing with the protesters bowed their heads to pray as well.

By the end of the video, all of the officers had left the scene. Though the protesters were given a ticket, they were allowed to keep demonstrating, and they said they ended up saving twin babies from being aborted. A woman coming out of the clinic told them that she had been about to abort her twin babies, showing them a photo of the ultrasound, but God changed her mind.

“God opened her eyes and God softened her heart, and she came out,” pro-life activist Andrew Belanger said. “Amidst all of this [with the police] earlier, and God continues to bring encouragement: twins.”

The protesters later filed a lawsuit against Whitmer and the city of Detroit claiming the police enforcement of the stay-at-home order that prevents their pro-life efforts on the sidewalks outside an abortion business is in violation with the First and 14th Amendments.

It’s ridiculous that Democrats are allowing abortion clinics to remain open as “essential services” during the coronavirus pandemic. All medical supplies that aren’t essential should be being used to fight COVID-19, and we certainly don’t think there’s anything “essential” about murdering babies. We’re glad to see that these protesters are fighting abortion providers on this, and if the video above is any indication, God is definitely on their side.
