Former Vice President and current Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden got some very bad news this week when his former staffer Tara Reade filed a criminal complaint against him over a sexual assault that she claims happened back in 1993.

Reade reportedly filed the complaint on Thursday afternoon with the sexual assault unit of the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department, according to Business Insider.

Reade herself tweeted out their article while she praised “the brave journalists” reporting her story and thanked those who have “stood by” her. She went on to admit that the statute of limitations on her case had already run out, and that she filed the police report for “safety reasons only.”

Reade worked for Biden in the 1990s, and last month, she came forward to claim that he had sexually assaulted her back in 1993. She said that the then-senator from Delaware pinned her against a wall and digitally penetrated her without her consent.

“We were alone, and it was the strangest thing. There was no, like, exchange really, he just had me up against the wall,” she said, according to The Blaze. “His hands were on me, and underneath my clothes. He went down my skirt, but then up inside. He penetrated me with his fingers.”

Reade remembered Biden asking if she “wanted to go somewhere else,” and saying, “C’mon man, I heard you liked me.” The assault ended with Biden allegedly dismissing her, leaving Reade”trying to grasp what had just happened and what I should do or what I should say.”

When Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexual assault two years ago, Biden spoke out to say that all women who accuse someone of sexual assault should be believed.

“For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time,” Biden said at the time, later adding, “You’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real.”

We’re going to take Biden’s advice and believe Reade. Her story sounds credible, and we applaud her for exposing Biden as the sexual predator that he is.
