In the ongoing fight between some Democrat governors and President Donald Trump, some governors don’t have a leg to stand on. No, that is not an FDR joke.

Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, Laura Kelly of Kansas, Andy Beshear of Kentucky, and most of all, Ralph Northam of Virginia have plumbed the depths of incompetence and evasion of responsibility while at the same time trampling on constitutional rights.

Even leftist Democrat stalwarts like Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gavin Newsom of California have performed relatively well during this national public health crisis. But the four above have failed. Let’s see how:

Whitmer- Albeit very telegenic, Whitmer has no idea what she is doing. First she is squawking gloom and doom about the crisis. Then she is pressured into a May 1st reopening and pathetically tries to rationalize her change of position. Overriding it all is her ongoing audition for the Democrat VP slot. She is from a swing state the Democrats need. But her recent performance has hurt her chances and helped those of Kamala Harris of California and Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico.

Kelly and Beshear- For an unknown reason, aside from just the inherent Democrat suspicion of people of faith, they have put religion in the crosshairs and pulled the trigger. Using the coronavirus as cover, both have done all they can to disrupt services and penalize those still going to church while abiding by social distancing rules. Both are in office by flukes. Both have signed their political walking papers.

Northam- Is there anything he has done that has helped the people of Virginia during this crisis? No. He and his Democrat-infested legislature have bungled the coronavirus response, have turned a deaf ear to criticism from any quarter, have tried to muscle in all types of leftist economic goodies into virus bills, and have stopped the sale of guns in despicable contravention of the U.S. Constitution. Given the state is de facto blue, he will likely be lauded for these actions. Virginia is still for lovers…of socialism.

Incompetent mention: in the spirit of bipartisan scolding we mention GOP Governor Henry McMaster of South Carolina. Says GOP ace SC consultant Stacy Shea, “His leadership style is underwhelming. McMaster has failed to give clear direction regarding what we can expect in closure or opening.” That indecision has also apparently led to dissension on these issues within the SC GOP.
