Former late-night host David Letterman launched an outrageous attack on Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday, accusing him of “taunting” coronavirus patients when he didn’t wear a mask during a visit to the Mayo Clinic.
“Now if you go to the Mayo Clinic because you have COVID-19, you really have it,” Letterman told “shock jock” radio host Howard Stern. “[Pence] takes time off from his gig as a mannequin, and he’s walking around without a mask taunting these poor people who are bedridden and wearing a mask. To me, that is just taunting people who are ill, to see that guy walking around in his $40 suit walking around in the Mayo Clinic without a mask.”
Letterman went on to add that Pence not wearing a mask was “particularly a thorn in my side” because he had previously been governor of his home state of Indiana.
Pence received tons of backlash from the Left for not wearing a mask, as liberals chose to focus on that instead of the incredible strides the Mayo Clinic is making in terms of coronavirus testing.
“As vice president of the United States I’m tested for the coronavirus on a regular basis, and everyone who is around me is tested for the coronavirus,” Pence explained in response to the backlash. “And since I don’t have the coronavirus, I thought it’d be a good opportunity for me to be here, to be able to speak to these researchers, these incredible healthcare personnel, and look them in the eye and say ‘thank you.’”
This explanation did nothing to stop liberal celebrities from throwing their temper tantrums about this.
“Pence was warned to wear a mask during a tour of the Mayo Clinic and refused. Do he and Trump think they’re invincible or is Pence afraid of Trump? What terrible role models for our nation,” anti-Trump actress Barbra Streisand tweeted.

“What person sees this and isn’t disgusted? If they do not lose in a landslide our country has lost its mind,” added Hollywood director Judd Apatow. “It’s not just about him getting sick, it’s about him getting other people sick. If he isn’t following guidelines he has a higher chance of catching the virus.”
