If you go to the Bernie Sanders campaign page and want to make a donation to the campaign, the site redirects you to the Biden campaign. Get it?

So, the Sanders campaign is dead. He has all but conceded. He hasn’t because he wants to hold some cards in his hand at the now August convention. That change of date is a development that LifeZette called weeks ago.

Thus Biden told Sanders he is going ahead with his self-prescribed female choice for vice president. Sanders wants a say in that. That means that he could use his still active candidacy and pledged delegates to play spoiler if Biden tries a VP pick from the center-left, like Amy Klobuchar.

Pushing the VP sweepstakes to the Left means the smart money trends to a big state hard leftist. Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and NY Attorney General Letitia James get a boost. Biden could go for an unknown. But too much time and money would have to be spent gaining a dark horse name recognition. Not to mention the gravitas issue.

Sanders won’t be the only one pushing from the Left. AOC and her crew are no doubt planning to make the convention become their personal sideshows, as they tell America how Trump is a fascist who has blood on his hands because of the coronavirus.

But by August the situation will be different from the present. If the coronavirus has been subdued by the efforts of the Trump team and the economy has begun to bounce back, it won’t matter much what palooka Biden chooses, as they will be fighting a doomed battle.

Conversely, if things are going well for the country, the GOP Charlotte convention later in August will be a party orgy of renewal and congratulations. It will make Reagan’s “Morning in America” look like a Bergman film.
