Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) gave a virtual press conference on Facebook on Monday in which she explained that Democrats want it included in the next coronavirus relief package that racism and inequality are “pre-existing conditions” that are leading to the deaths of Americans.
Ocasio-Cortez said during the briefing that her district in New York is “heavily immigrant” and “overwhelmingly people of color.”
“As we’ve long been saying, these inequities are a pre-existing condition,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Not having access to health care is why people are dying.”
“Having pre-existing conditions because they have confronted asthma and elevated lead levels that come from environmental racism and concentrating pollution in communities of color and working class communities is why people are dying,” the freshman congresswoman added.
The press conference had been advertised as launching the #PutPeopleFirst campaign that aims to call for legislation to save the American economy, according to Breitbart News. Among the list of demands that the campaign is pushing are a guaranteed income for individuals and families for an extended period of time, universal health care, debt forgiveness and housing guarantees.
Ocasio-Cortez has been trying to make coronavirus all about race from the very beginning of this pandemic. “COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities,” she tweeted earlier this month. “Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions. Inequality is a comorbidity. COVID relief should be drafted with a lens of reparations.”

This shows just how far the Left has gone in regards to their race-baiting agenda. They can now make absolutely anything about race, even a pandemic that has killed well over a hundred thousand people of all different races all over the world.
These kinds of foolish comments by Ocasio-Cortez only show everyone just how crazy the modern Democratic Party has become. If Ocasio-Cortez keeps this up, she might just end up becoming Republicans’ secret weapon going into the November election.
